China, Japan and South Korea Seek Co-operation in Agriculture

GUIYANG, China, Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 17th, the Trilateral Local Governments' Forum on Three Rural Issues 2017 of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea and Japan opened in Guiyang, Guizhou. It was endorsed by Guizhou Provincial Foreign Affairs Office and Agriculture Commission, and organized by huanqiu.com. In the theme of "Develop Mountain Agriculture and Share Green Benefits", the forum welcomed approximately 400 government officers from the three countries, representatives from the Food and Agriculture Organization and professional purchasers from the agriculture industry.

The Secretary-General of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, Lee Jong-heon said in an interview with huanqiu.com, "China, Japan and South Korea give a central aim and first priority to agriculture, meanwhile facing problems such as rural labor migration and rural-urban imbalances which we should make joint efforts to tackle." Deputy Party Secretary of Guizhou Provincial CPC Committee and Acting Governor Shen Yiqin mentioned in her speech, "in the theme of "Develop Mountain Agriculture and Share Green Benefits" the 2017 trilateral forum will be successful indeed."

"Several exchange programs have been carried out between Guizhou Province and Saga Prefecture in agriculture, sports, adolescent education and the likes since 1998," Japanese Vice Governor of Saga Prefecture Ikeda Hideo said in an interview with huanqiu.com. Moreover, he pointed out, "agriculture is the necessary industry at all times, and it is our duty to protect and guide agricultural development."
