Commemorative Aircraft Unveiled in Partnership with China Eastern Airlines

BEIJING, July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- POP MART and China Eastern Airlines unveiled a limited-edition DIMOO-themed aircraft on July 4 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand. The custom designed aircraft will serve routes connecting major cities in China with Bangkok. The initiative follows the formal recognition of DIMOO as a "Special Friend of the China-Thailand Golden Jubilee" at a June 30 official reception attended by Piyapak Sricharoen, Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Chang Yumeng, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand. The beloved character further featured prominently at a launch ceremony held in Bangkok, where an animated short film premiered showcasing the exclusive aircraft design. As 2025 marks the golden jubilee of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, initiatives of this kind highlight the role that contemporary intellectual property figures such as DIMOO can play in serving as innovative platforms for strengthening cross-cultural engagement and advancing people-to-people ties.

The unveiling ceremony included the participation of Pensom Lertsithichai, Deputy Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Chang Yumeng, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand; and Chen Xiaoyun, Vice President of POP MART International Group. The bespoke DIMOO design intricately weaves cultural motifs from both nations.

During the program, a full-scale DIMOO mascot made a surprise appearance, joining artist AYAN in presenting commemorative 50th-anniversary gift sets to diplomatic guests. The gesture served as both a tribute to the enduring relationship between China and Thailand and a demonstration of how modern character-based media can serve as platforms for deepening international friendship and cross-cultural connection.
