Mr Chang-fu Teng, Teresa's brother and models dressed in Teresa's signature style, were present at Madame Tussauds to unveil the new costume. The spectacular dress is based on the original cheongsam that Teresa wore during her '77 concert tour of Japan.

Bret Pidgeon, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Shanghai said, "We are honoured to be able to further enhance the Teresa Teng experience for her legions of fans from around the world at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. Since 2001, thousands of admirers have paid tribute to Teresa here at the Peak and we are certain that they will enjoy her 'new look'."

Teresa's wax likeness is dressed in a white sequin cheongsam with pink butterflies, which accentuates the singer's delicate features and bright smile. The wax figure has been placed in front of a new backdrop, which is based on Teresa's NHK "One and Only" 1985 concert in Japan.

Mr Teng added, "My little sister Teresa loved the stage and most importantly she loved her fans. The cheongsam that Teresa's wax figure now wears is a replica of one of her favourite gowns and through this spectacular costume, Teresa will continue to dazzle her fans from all around the world."

From May 3 to May 10, 2009, members of the Hong Kong Teresa Teng Fan Club who wish to pay tribute to the singer can enter Madame Tussauds Hong Kong at the special price of HK$100. In addition, to give guests even more time to celebrate Teresa Teng's illustrious life, visitors who present a receipt from the Teresa New Life Coffee Shop in Tsim Sha Tsui, from now until December 31, 2009, will receive a HK$10 discount on adult admission tickets.

Teresa's wax figure is located in the Music Icons section of Madame Tussauds Hong Kong. During the month of May, guests can sing classic Teresa Teng songs in the dedicated karaoke room which is also located in the Music Icons section.
