National Instruments Rolls Out Array of High-performance Products at NIDays 2015

2015-10-19 17:41

SINGAPORE, Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NI (Nasdaq: NATI), the provider of solutions that enable engineers and scientists to solve the world's greatest engineering challenges, announced at NIDays 2015 the introduction of high-performance test applications, and a hardware and software boost to its existing line of instruments and automated test applications, including system design software LabVIEW 2015.

LabVIEW 2015

NIDays 2015 delegates were able to test the latest version of LabVIEW which delivers marked speed improvements, development shortcuts and debugging tools to empower developers to efficiently interact with the systems they create.

Through the reuse of the same code and engineering processes across systems, LabVIEW is set to accelerate engineering productivity with its impressive collection of features to help developers save time and money against the backdrop of technology advancement, evolving requirements, and increased time-to-market pressure.

LabVIEW has been used across a wide variety of industries to drive higher performance and product quality. LabVIEW 2015 further equips engineers with support for advanced hardware such as the new Quad Core Performance CompactRIO and CompactDAQ Controllers, 14-slot CompactDAQ USB 3.0 chassis, Single-Board RIO Controllers, Controller for FlexRIO, eightcore PXI Controller, and High Voltage System SMU.

LabVIEW 2015 also reduces the learning curve for employing a software-designed approach to quickly create powerful, flexible, and reliable systems. With three application-specific suites that include a year of unlimited training and certification benefits, developers have unprecedented access to software and training resources to build better systems faster.

Next-Generation Control Systems Optimized for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) To meet the evolving requirements of the IIoT, NI's platform brings together intelligent systems, connectivity and system-to-system communications, coupled with analytical software tools designed to deliver business insights and customer value.

The new embedded systems hardware, based on the open, flexible LabVIEW reconfigurable I/O (RIO) architecture, includes the high-performance CompactRIO Controllerfor integrators with rugged, industrial applications, Controller for FlexRIOfor designers with highperformance embedded applications and Single-Board RIO Controllerfor designers who require more flexibility in their embedded applications. These controllers integrate the latest embedded technologies from Intel and Xilinx to deliver unparalleled performance and flexibility, empowering system designers and machine builders to address the most demanding control and monitoring challenges.

The controllers are fully supported byLabVIEW software, the LabVIEW FPGA Module and NILinux Real-Time, now based on Security-Enhanced Linux, which enables advanced security features for Industrial IoT applications.

Wireless Production Test - New PXI-based Wireless Test System

NI's new Wireless Test System (WTS) is a solution that dramatically lowers the cost of high-volume wireless manufacturing test. Although faced with the rising complexity of wireless test, companies can confidently reduce test costs and multiply throughput on the production floor with a system optimized for measurement speed and parallel test.

The WTS combines the latest advances in PXI hardware to offer a single platform for multistandard, multi-DUT and multi-port testing. When used with flexible test sequencing software, such as the TestStand Wireless Test Module, manufacturers can significantly improve instrument utilization when testing multiple devices in parallel.

The WTS integrates easily into a manufacturing line with ready-to-run test sequences for devices that use chipsets from suppliers like Qualcomm and Broadcom as well as integrated DUT and remote automation control. With these features, customers are seeing considerable efficiency gains from their RF test equipment and further reducing their cost of test.

The WTS is the latest system from NI built on PXI hardware and LabVIEW and TestStand software. With support for wireless standards from LTE Advanced to 802.11ac to Bluetooth Low Energy, the WTS is designed for manufacturing test of WLAN access points, cellular handsets, infotainment systems and other multi-standard devices that include cellular, wireless connectivity and navigation standards. Software-designed PXI vector signal transceiver technology inside the WTS delivers superior RF performance in the manufacturing test environment and a platform that can scale with the evolving requirements of RF test.

New CompactDAQ hardware and DIAdem 2015 software for Big Data challenges

With the exponential growth of engineering data, smarter, software-based measurement systems help users embed intelligence and processing at the point of acquisition, capturing only the most necessary data. The new 4- and 8-slot CompactDAQ controllers feature Intel Atom quad-core 1.91 GHz E3845 processors, programmable with new LabVIEW 2015 system design software, so engineers and scientists can customize their data acquisition systems to add functionality like processing, intelligence and control. The new controllers can run either Windows Embedded 7 or NI Linux Real-Time, and include 32 GB of nonvolatile storage and removable SD storage to create smarter data logging and embedded monitoring applications.

The new USB 3.0 CompactDAQ Chassis helps users scale their measurement systems to higher-channel-count applications without reducing transfer speed. With a 14-slot expansion capacity and USB 3.0 streaming capabilities, the new CompactDAQ Chassis and LabVIEW software can handle current data acquisition needs and easily adapt to meet future needs in a single system.

To make critical data-driven decisions, an enterprise data management solution is paramount to managing, analyzing and visualizing big data. NI is releasing DIAdem 2015 as 64-bit software, so users can load and analyze more data than before. DataFinder Server Edition 2015 delivers multistep querying that can be sent out to a global federation of servers to find the data users need to analyze in seconds.
