HONG KONG, May 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan announced today total Asia and Oceania sales for April of 18,470 units, a 2.9 percent decline from a year earlier.
April highlights:
- Sales in Thailand showed momentum over the prior year, thanks to an effective sales campaign launched at the Bangkok International Motor Show. Teana sales for April reached a record 1,130 units, up 146 percent vs. the prior month, recording its best sales month since its launch in October 2013.
- Sylphy, which launched in Malaysia on April 29, has had a good start, with 200 orders booked and positive feedback from customers and media.
- Other A&O markets performed strongly: Korea had its best April sales driven by Altima and sales in New Zealand were up 125 percent from prior year, with Pulsar and the new X-Trail being key contributors. X-Trail in New Zealand achieved best-selling SUV status for the month.
