Nissan Set to Excite at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2013

• ASEAN premiere of the fully-connected, fully-interactive Friend-ME concept

BANGKOK, Nov. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nissan today is set to excite Thailand with an extensive lineup of Nissan models at the Thailand International Motor Expo 2013 to be held at Challenger 1-3, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani from November 29th through December 10th.

At the show, Nissan will reveal the Friend-ME concept for the first time in the ASEAN region. Along with the newly launched Juke and all-new Teana, Nissan will also showcase two new versions of Sylphy and the limited SMART editions of the popular March, Almera, Sylphy and Pulsar models.

Friend-ME concept

The future connectivity-inspired Friend-ME concept makes its ASEAN debut in Thailand. Created under the theme "distilled majestic presence inspired by the social dynamics of the 80s-generation", the edgy sedan combines a striking exterior design with an advanced, premium interior. Powered by Nissan's Pure Drive 2.0-litre hybrid powertrain, Friend-ME pursues the possibilities of a fully-connected, fully-interactive cabin with four individual seats each with infotainment displays.

Juke

Juke, the iconic compact sports crossover just launched in Thailand, exudes sportiness with unconventional styling, agile handling, driving pleasure and user-friendly technology. Combining SUV attributes with sports car DNA, Juke offers three driving modes at the touch of a button through Nissan's Integrated Control (I-Con) system, delivering performance which meets the driver's needs. Juke also enhances the driving experience through its Internet Connectivity Entertainment (I-Connect) system, allowing effortless switching between phone, music and driving information through iOS or Android connections. Powered by a 1.6-litre petrol-fueled HR16 engine with twin C-VTC (Continuous Valve Timing Control), Dual Injector System and XTRONIC CVT™, Juke is available in two variants -- 1.6E and 1.6V. All-new Teana

Redesigned based on the "Suggestive Aura" approach, the all-new Teana offers a class-above driving experience that unites premium comfort with dynamic driving performance. It is the first vehicle in Thailand to offer Around View Monitor. Nissan's unique Intelligent Transport System -- a comprehensive safety warning system which includes Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Moving Object Detection -- provides drivers with a confidence-inspiring driving feel with complete 360-degree awareness of the vehicle. Teana is powered by two engine variants: the MR20DE and the new QR25DE with the next-generation XTRONIC CVT™, allowing the premium sedan to deliver responsive acceleration and excellent fuel economy. Available in five grades, prices start from 1,270,000 Baht.

Sylphy CNG and SV versions

Sylphy 1.6E CNG is a new, bi-fuel option to the popular model, capable of running on either compressed natural gas or gasoline. The vehicle is powered by the newly developed HR16DE bi-fuel, 16-valve 1.6-litre DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine, rated at 154 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm and 116 horsepower (PS) at 5,600 rpm. The twin C-VTC (Continuous Valve Timing Control) and Dual Injector System elevates fuel efficiency and environmental benefits. Available in six colors, prices start from 859,000 Baht.

Sylphy 1.6SV exhibits a distinctive sporty design, accessorized with front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts, a trunk lid spoiler, 16-inch Hyper Black alloy wheels and the SV emblem. The interior is fashioned in black with a silver trim. The SV version is powered by the HR16DE Pure Drive engine, 16-valve 1.6L DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine and is geared with twin C-VTC (Continuous Valve Timing Control) and Dual Injector System. Sylphy 1.6SV offers smooth, high-performance handling together with excellent fuel efficiency. It is available in three colors and prices start from 852,000 Baht.

SMART edition: custom packages for March, Almera, Sylphy and Pulsar

Nissan is also introducing the limited SMART edition for March, Almera, Sylphy and Pulsar. With the SMART edition, customers can customize their vehicles with stylish accessories and devices, creating value beyond the purchase price. Customers can choose from the White Pearl or Black Star SMART edition sets of decorative accessories, with 2-point rear sensors on March 1.2E CVT and Almera 1.2E CVT at a cost of 3,500 Baht for a total value of more than 10,000 Baht. This offer is only applicable to 700 units each of March and Almera. SMART edition sets are also available on all variants of Sylphy and Pulsar, and includes a choice of a DVD player, an 8-inch monitor, a navigator or Bluetooth, plus a rearview camera and decorative accessories. Only 1300 and 350 units, respectively, are available at a cost of 18,000 Baht for a total value of more than 42,000 Baht.

The 1,440 square-meter Nissan booth is located at Section A11 in Hall 1 of the Thailand International Motor Expo 2013.
