Suntech CEO Establishes China Solar Photovoltaic Suntech Prize

WUXI, China, Nov. 8 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Suntech Power Holdings Co.,

Ltd.(NYSE: STP), one of the world's leading manufacturers of photovoltaic

(PV) cells and modules, announced today that Dr. Zhengrong Shi, Suntech's

Chairman and CEO, hasestablished the China Solar Photovoltaic Suntech Prize

to honor engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and government officials who

have made substantial contributions to the development of China's PV

industry.

to five Chinese PV experts at the opening ceremony of the 9th Chinese Solar

Photovoltaic Conference and Exhibition on November 3, 2006.
