Lumena New Materials Granted the 11th Five-Year China Chemical Fibre Technology Award

("Lumena New Materials" or the "Company", stock code: 67), the world’s largest PPS resin producer* and one of the world’s leading thenardite producers**, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Sichuan Deyang Special New Material Co., Ltd has received the 11th Five-Year China Chemical Fibre Technology Award by China Chemical Fibres Association.

China Chemical Fibres Association held its "Annual General Meeting on the Innovation and Development of China Chemical Fibre Industry 2011 cum the 2nd Meeting of the 5th Session of the Association" in Changle city, Fujian province on 8 April 2011, to recognize outstanding entreprises and individuals in the industry in the 11th Five-Year. Lumena New Material was granted the 11th Five-Year China Chemical Fibre Technology Award for its advanced and patented production technology, which contributed to its success in the industry.

Lumena New Material produces PPS fibre with outstanding chemical resistance and stability. It is characterized by flame retardance as well as thermal stability. It is also an insulating material with radiation resistant properties and a good filtering material. It can be used to make filtering bags for thermal power plants, industrial boilers and incinerators. With increasing standards in energy saving and carbon emissions, the demand in China for PPS fibre is expected to increase significantly. Moreover, PPS fibre can be widely used in a wide variety of applications such as firefighting wear, offering huge growth potential in product applications.
