"New Discoveries x Chiba and Mt. Fuji" Campaign

2013-12-20 13:00

CHIBA, Japan, December 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mt. Fuji was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2013. From Chiba Prefecture, you can see Mt. Fuji from across Tokyo Bay, a stunning view that you can't experience in other prefectures. This beautiful scene was often depicted in ukiyo-e, Japanese woodblock prints and paintings that flourished in the 17th to 19th centuries.

In celebration of the UNESCO registration, Chiba Prefecture is exploring its relation to the mountain and sharing new discoveries about Mt. Fuji and Chiba. Since Chiba is home to Narita International Airport, we invite visitors to come and discover the many faces of this beautiful mountain, including Mt. Fuji seen from across the water, Diamond Fuji (when the sun shines just above the tip of the mountain at sunrise or sunset), and the views of Mt. Fuji that people in Chiba can experience in their daily lives.
