Taekwondo legend Lee Daehoon holds a global taekwondo seminar tour in Jeju

A campaign called "Health Growth of Global Youth" and Lee Daehoon donate to the UNICEF Korean Committee

JEJU, South Korea, Dec. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Lee Daehoon, who won 3 straight Asian Games Golds in Taekwondo, twelve GPs, the Cheongryong Medal of the Highest Order of Sport Merit, and four Player of the Year Awards from the World Taekwondo Federation, will hold the "Lee Daehoon, Global Taekwondo Seminar & Tour" for young people and youth of the world with the slogan, "Love Taekwondo, Love Korea," in Jeju in the middle of February next year. 

 

The global taekwondo seminar tour organized by The Planet Jeju will be held for 3 nights and 4 days on 15th February. The seminar will consist of outdoor and indoor taekwondo seminars on Jeju oreum and sea, taekwon aerobics (KPOP), Korean traditional games, Korean dance training, team building and motivational programs and as well as taekwondo and Korean cultural performances to enjoy.

Lee Daehoon said, "I hope that this event will be an occasion to promote Korea and global youth friendship with taekwondo." 

This event also includes a campaign called "Health Growth of Global Youth" and Lee Daehoon signed an agreement to donate part of the proceeds of the event to the UNICEF Korean Committee, expressing his desire to use it for the healthy growth of children in vulnerable countries.

The event, which is officially sponsored by Korea Tourism Organization, will select 100 participants on a first-come, first-served basis from December 21, 2018 on The Planet Jeju website at www.theplanetjeju.com.

About Lee Daehoon

Lee Daehoon (born February 5, 1992) is a South Korean Taekwondo athlete. Lee grew up practicing martial art at his father's taekwondo academy from age 5. Lee made his international flyweight debut at the 2011 World Taekwondo Olympic Qualification Tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan. Lee Daehoon, in his first year transferring to the Daejeon Sports Council in 2018, won the Grand Slam title early this year, and won the Grand Prix series three times in a row at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games. He also won the World Grand Prix event 10 times in a row, the World Grand Prix Final for the first time in Taekwondo history, and was named the player of the year at the 2018 World Taekwondo Federation.
