BANGKOK, Nov. 11, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- To celebrate Diwali, Western Union is rewarding first-time customers using its digital services to send money to India from Thailand a chance to win a THB 300 Central e-voucher until November 30, 2020. Western Union, a global leader in cross-border, cross-currency money movement and payments, offers consumers in Thailand multi-channel choice to send money globally via its digital channels Western Union mobile app and WU.com, and its nation-wide agent retail network.

To qualify for the promotion, first-time users of Western Union's digital channels in Thailand have to send a minimum amount of THB 25,000 to India via WU.com or via the Western Union mobile app for a transfer fee of THB 99[1]. Families and loved ones in India can receive money into bank accounts or at more than 103,000 Agent Locations[2].

Once the money transfer has been successfully completed via Western Union's digital channels, the first 2000 customers will be automatically eligible to receive a THB 300 Central e-voucher, valid for purchases at participating stores and restaurants in Central Department Store.

Customer Guidance

In line with the local regulations, before to the first use of the online service and the app, customers are required to register on WU.com/th. Once the registration is complete, customers can verify their identity with a valid government-issued ID at one of the Central Department Store locations. Once the profile is verified, Western Union customers can conveniently send money anytime, with a few clicks from their mobile phones. The Western Union® mobile app is available for both iOS and Android users. For more information on how to send money online, customers can refer to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).

The Diwali promotion available until November 30, 2020, and is subject to the following:

  • Eligible Participants may only enter the promotion once, with only the first qualifying money transfer being automatically qualified for the promotion.
  • Customers need to send a minimum amount of THB 25,000 (principal amount, excluding transfer fees), to India. 
  • Eligible customers will receive a Central e-voucher worth THB 300 at the email address provided in the sender's money transfer details.
  • A total of 2,000 e-vouchers will be given away. The offer is valid only until November 30, 2020, and while stocks last.
